These 47 airframes included the first four Battles delivered to RAAF (P2167, P2169, P5239, P5247) on April 30 1940 and comprised 39 Battle I's and 6 Battle Trainers.

They were sourced from the following production batches delivered to the RAF:

  • 150 Battle I's serialled P2155 to P2369 delivered by Fairey (Stockport) between June and October 1939 under contract 768880/38.
     

  • 50 Battle I's serialled P5228 to P5294 delivered by Fairey (Stockport) between October and November 1939 under contract 768880/38.
     

  • 200 Battle serialled P6480 to P6769 delivered by Fairey (Stockport) between October and November 1939 under contract 768880/38. The first 100 airframes of this batch (P6480 to P6615) were built as Battle I's and final 100 of (P6616 to P6769) were built as Battle Trainers.
